Description:

This internship is part of the Spring 2025 Professional Internship Program. To be eligible for the program you must:

  • Be enrolled as an SUU student during the course of the internship.
  • Have and maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Be willing to work 10 to 20 hours per week.
  • Provide thoughtful responses in your application.

The Business Operations Manager will assist the full-time faculty operations manager with running SUU News, the University Journal and classes. The job responsibilities include:

  • Managing the budget (track spending/wages, submitting receipts, making purchases)
  • Overseeing student personnel issues (recruiting, hiring, onboarding, tracking timesheets and productivity--this may include staying up late on due dates to make sure every student submits their timesheet on time)
  • Managing the completion of the UJ printing (monitor costs, delivery, submit receipts)
  • Assisting in the marketing of the UJ (determining the right amount of copies to be printed and look for ways to increase the number of readers)
  • Monitoring social media (analyze and improve audience engagement)
  • Maintaining the office (oversee supplies, office upkeep, grading for communication classes and completing tasks as assigned by the faculty operations manager).

Qualifications:

  • Must attend weekly editor and all-staff meetings every Monday from 4-7
  • Must meet weekly with the faculty operations manager to discuss progress and upcoming assignments
  • The ideal candidate is tech savvy and has initiative
